Energy storage facility Győr

ALTEO’s third, 8 MW/16 MWh battery electricity storage facility started operation in October 2024 in Győr. The energy storage unit in the Győr Industrial Park increased the total energy storage capacity operating in Hungary at the time by almost 20 percent, of which ALTEO provided about 40 percent. The facility is unique in that three different technologies, i.e. the new battery storage facility, the adjacent gas engine and ALTEO’s wind farm in Bőny connect to the national grid at a common point, making use of the wind farm’s existing grid connection capacity and increasing the level of its utilization.
