Energy storage facility Budapest

ALTEO implemented its first 6 MW output/4 MW capacity energy storage unit in Budapest in 2018, on the grounds of the Zugló Power Plant. ALTEO has installed one of the first industrial-scale energy storage facilities in Central and Eastern Europe next to the 3×6.2 MW Füredi utca Gas Engine Power Plant in District XIV, which allows for the batteries of the energy storage facility to be charged with electricity generated by the gas engines. Both the energy storage unit and the gas engines play an important role in the regulation of the electricity system through the ALTEO Virtual Power Plant. The gas engines – in parallel – transfer the cogenerated heat to BKM Főtáv and participate in the supply of the Zugló heat district.
